How To Apply Mastic To Windows

1. I have recently treated/stained some wooden windows and prior to rubbing the windows down, removed the trowel mastic from effectually the edges of the window frames as a lot of information technology was coming abroad. I have now finished the work merely accept establish that re-applying the trowel mastic is no easy task. The window frames are stained wood butted up to smooth stone.

   Is there a knack to applying trowel mastic (that I evidently haven't got) or could I use silicone instead ?

5. Good advice from Midnight, this stuff tin can be a correct sod to put in, in my view its merely a little better than using linseed oil putty!

8. I would have thought a depression-modulus silicon would be more apt(if the gap is small plenty-8mm or less).
